I'm sorry my post came across as being critical. I didn't mean it to be. It is hard to convey emotion and inflection on the written page. I do empathize with your miserable night.
Like the later posts, I hope you don't give up because of a terrible experience with the wrong protocol for a flush.
Maybe by your posting you will save many a would-be flusher from having a similar experience.
