I now have a dozen things I do to relieve constipation BEFORE I will take any commercial laxitives or "dieteary fibre", both of which have problems.One thing is backlash constipation - after one good movement, the next day you might be right back where you started. The fibre can cause discomfort and dehydration. Its not that natural really. Get fibre from food, not supplements is what I find works best.
Cascara Sargada [ made from tree bark] is what works when all else fails, but before that I will make diet changes... more berries - it is blueberry season , go for it.
A few ideas:
Fresh ground flax seed - difficult when travelling I am sorry - each day really helps
Drinking down an ounce or three of OLIVE OIL will help loosen hardened stool.
Dandelion Root "coffee" - expensive as coffee, but works really well most times.
And mostly, though you won't believe me, the solution is WATER:
At lest three liters for three days in a row and you might feel hydrated for the first time in your life... this is true for 80% of people, why would you be different? You may pee a lot at some point, thats just detoxifying and something you needed to do for many years. It will settle down by day three, where you will pee large and strong, like a man!! [lol, joking] but not so freqquently as when you were dehydrated.
