Re: thanks

Who are we indeed? It's a good question.
I'm a 38 y.o. white female, working in Sales, married, no kids. My maximum weight (about 5 years ago) was 275#. I had gastric bypass surgery and lost 125#. In the year that followed, I made a number of very positive changes-- I adopted a more healthy diet, exercised regularly, etc.

My husband is in good shape and has never had a weight problem-- the guy eats like a horse (including about a gallon of ice cream every week!), and never seems to put on a pound. He doesn't work out, either. If I didn't love him, I'd hate him for it :)

Little by little, I have found myself slipping back into bad habits-- eating the wrong things, and virtually no exercise. As a result, I've gained back 30#. Very distressing, but I've just chosen not to deal with it-- until now. If I don't start changing things, 30# will be 50# before I know it. I just can't let that happen.

So, I've made the decision to get back to more healthy pursuits. I am doing this cleanse primarily as a cold-turkey method of breaking my bad habits and replacing them, post-fast, with better ones. I certainly won't mind the weight loss jump-start either, but I've done so many diets that I know faster isn't necessarily permanent-- but it is a great motivator to continue. And I'm sure my digestive system will appreciate the break I'm giving it.

Day 4 (hoping to go to 21), feeling good, staying motivated, and down 6# so far!

Lisa
