Re: Old World...

How do you fare with the family of your husband, Im sure they are thrilled you joined their family!
Husband is from Kuwait, such sweet people, first time I went overseas- that was quite a culture shock. They are so kind and will offer you the shirt off thier back literally. If you want a real thrill take a taxi, or a bus on a high road without any guard rails lol- even though challenges face them, they take them in stride, with sort of a day while in Jordan, at a shopping bazaar next to a refugee camp Basraa I saw a woman troubled with a toddler on her hip dashing thru the market, the girls sandal fell off, I picked it up running thru the crowds trying to find the lady, when I gave it to her- she didnt care! Just took it like I had bothered her....strong, harsh living. You could see the tents in the mud, the ladies in black selling single cigarettes atop a cardboard box.
Mango ice cream in the cafe, family feasts and the sounds of the call to prayer were some of the highlights. Also you can find men arm in arm, but no one would ever think anything of it, they have a more innocent air about them there. Very at peace with themselves and their sexuality. Is it because more open love has surrounded them? Women and women link arms and go shopping as well as the men, they greet eachother with a kiss or a hug and a handshake, they seem more civilized yet at the same time surrounded by Old World styles of living, ancient traditional ways.

take care- peace
