I am not aware of malic acid taken in small amounts causing teeth problems, as little as fruits containing malic acid do, such as apples and cranberries. But I can imagine that if larger amounts are used on a regular basis, the tooth-protective layers may diminish. These usually become restored when acid exposure is discontinued.
