Re: Hot baths for pitta types

Johnny

Wouldnt the sauna be the same thing? I mean you would be just heating yourself up again and the same thing would happen again If your heat comes from within, then the sauna wont do any good would they?

Besides Im mostly pitta myself and I cant take saunas and baths either even though I like them. I usually cant wait to get in the cooler room. What kind of exercise do you do now? I obviously dont have candida as bad as you do if im still doing all my activities that I did before. I can still run but I do it in the cool part of the day and alternate running and walking. I am the type who does everything full on so if I start a program then i normally start at the top instead of the bottom which usually ends up in me not feeling well because my mind thinks I can but the body doesnt. Are you like that? I found a couple of links for you but after reading them, found them useless but it did say

PITTA types can actually experience overheating when the weather is cold but not windy.

This is because freezing temperatures shrink and freeze the pores so that the body cannot release its own heat. This internal build-up of heat in the body makes the skin break out. It also increase appetite which is why people eat more in the cold weather.

Ayurveda recommends the following pitta-pacifying measures for maintaining balanced, healthy skin through the winter months.

Do full-body self-massage using olive oil with cooling herbs (sandalwood, rose, and jasmine.) Take brisk walks and do breathing exercises to release heat. Take mud (or hot) baths with cooling herbs. This releases heat and also opens the pores, which releases more heat and toxins.

Anyway good luck and thank you for the thyroid advice

Take care
Karen
