Flukes in blood from finger puncture?

I sent a slide with a drop of my blood on it to a guy who does darkfield microscopy, to see if he could tell me what is causing my asthma. The next day he told me very confidently that my blood was loaded with lung flukes. He even sent me a picture of what looked like a fluke -- supposedly taken from my blood.

He then sold me a VERY expensive parasite cleanse kit.

My question is: is this credible? I mean, my understanding is that flukes are relatively large. Could they really find their way into the tiny capillaries near a fingertip?
