Re: Allergies in infants?

Newmother,

Hi - you seem very conscious of what you are feeding and the chemicals that you expose your child to especially, due to the allergy sensitivity. I wanted to caution you also that laundry detergent may cause allergies in small children INCLUDING Dreft because there are still some harmful PCB's that cause skin irritations and reactions in children. I have a very sensitive child and I use strictly Borax as the sole laundry cleaner (with a little vinegar sometimes) to clean my kids clothes. My daughter is very hypersensitive to chemicals like bleach and detergents, etc, but since eliminating those chemicals and switching to Borax I don't have many skill irritations or allergies with her anymore.

If you have heard of Dr. Hulda Clark , who is mentioned on these forums quite a bit, she talks a great deal about detergent and PCB's and she is actually the one who mentions in her book, " The Cure For All Diseases ," to use Borax as an alternative. It has worked well for me and I wanted to share that information with you. She also talks about the mercury and chlorine in diapers which can cause weakened immunity and allergies (and is also a travesty, I might add!). She also has a great deal of info on various allergies and the book may be helpful if you are open because I will caution you, Dr. Clark is not for the faint hearted! Anyway, good luck with your baby and take care.

Regards,
Erika
