Re: I suggest that you consider cleansing enemas and a Colema board
Hi SonshineMama, if you decide to try an enema, experiment with the position that you find most comfortable. I like the Sims position, but flex my right knee a bit more than in the illustration. In this position you are lying more than halfway between your left side and your tummy. I find it quite comfortable, and it is often the position of choice during the last trimester of pregnancy, along with the knee-chest position.
Take your time with the enema, don't hurry through it. If the bag is hanging at a fixed height, it should be no higher that 1 1/2 - 2 ft above your hips. It's nice when someone is holding the bag for you that the bag can be raised and lowered as desired. If you start to feel uncomfortably full, or if you experience cramping, clamp off the flow and wait a half minute or minute or so until the water redistributes through your colon, and then resume.
When you prepare the enema, use one teaspoon of
Sea Salt (or non-iodized
table salt ) for each pint of water, or 4 teaspoons for a full bag, but you probably won't be able to take a full bag on the first try. Gradually, as your colon is cleansed and you become more used to it, you'll be able to take more each time with little if any discomfort.
At preparation time the water should be 103 degrees F, which is about 39.5 degrees C.
In my opinion, the enema bag is the most underused natural health accessory in families today, in fact most families don't even own an enema bag. This is the opposite of the situation as it was in the U.S. until about the 1970's. It was about that time when the old fashioned enema fell out of favor with the medical establishment in favor of laxatives, or in too many cases, doing nothing at all.
Best wishes and the best of natural health for you and your family,
Valerie
