Re: Unusual symptoms - related to cleansing?
Thank you, Kevin. I appreciate your input.
Wow, congratulations on the changes you've made and the healing you've experienced! That's inspiring.
Trying not to sound defensive, I still must say I really don't think I focus too much on depression. Most days I forget about it. There is a classic book called "Feeling Good" that has really helped me change thinking patterns etc. But there are times when
Depression seems to wash over me like an incoming tide. It's so noticeable that I'm convinced something biochemical is happening. (well, ALL thoughts & feelings are biochemical aren't they?!) I don't dwell on it. But I can't help but notice it -- like a headache. Anyway, I've noticed more of these events while being on the cleanse.
I've taken many positive steps toward health. Quit drinking almost 3 yrs ago after 12 yrs of heavy drinking. Best -- and hardest -- thing I've ever done. After that started working out again and lost 40 pounds. Working on healthier eating. Building relationships.
But Lord knows I have many more steps to take. It's a journey. I look forward to stopping the zoloft, and I did read about serotonin absorption in the intestines. It makes sense, and it's exciting to know that being cleaner will facilitate it. I can't just quit the med at this point though. I'm not prepared to deal with the suicidal feelings that resurface when I'm off of it (which has happened several times when I did eased off it in the past.)
A poco a poco, they say. Little by little. One step at a time.
Blessings,
Bundles
