some proteins protect bacteria from oxygen

Can some brainiac translate this research paper? It seems that Superoxide Dismutase/SOD and some amino acids (protein elements) protect bacteria, e-Coli, from oxygen degeneration. Some amino acids do not. Any feedback here? What is best way to provide dietary support for oxygen blasting of bacteria?
