Pain can be caused by spandex

Wearing support hosiery made of heavy-duty spandex has done the following to me:

(1) Foot achiness
(2) Back ache in my lower back (and I haven't been prone to backaches! But the spandex caused it.

I'd avoid too tight elastic waistbands as well.

P.S. On the other hand, spandex supports my leg muscles. So maybe it would have been best if I'd purchased foot-less thigh-highs. But I didn't (stupid me), and now I'm stuck with many pairs of footed/waisted support hose.
