I don't think every Evolutionist is a pure scientist. (I am a Creationist but I am trying to take my bias out of this.) For example, lets say Supersport has legitimate proof disproving the theory of evolution. (Not everyone here agrees with this but lets just say he is right.) I would speculate there are those who would believe that the theory would simply change to accomodate the evidence. I would say those people have placed their "faith" in evolution.
