Animals do not improve to adapt to their enviroment. YOur explanation is called Lamarckism and lost all credibility almost two hundred years ago. Acquired traits are not heriditary. An animal may become a better hunter, but this is not evolution, and the skill is not hereditary.
You seem to understand and acknowledge some aspects of evoultion, but some of your thinking is still hampered by the need for supernatural explanations. They are not required
BTW fertilization is pretty well understood process. YOu can actually watch it under a microscope in certain cases, and there have never been any reports of "breaths"
