Re: "The Nation of Islam" aka "Black muslims"
Ah, thank you so much for this post JV.
I had secretly wondered about this. After all, the muslim people I know are arabic, and do not concern themselves very much with such things. Then again, the black people I know are devout christians, and yes they are quite conservative and abhor any kind of violence or arrogance. So although I admit it's not been a subject that has consumed my thinking, the issue had crossed my mind on occasion.
I had thought about it again when you asked about black churches and white churches, which I was able to offer up an answer based upon my experiences and observation. But I wondered about the black muslim groups. I have seen many of the black muslim activists who I can not seem to put in the same box as regular muslims, black or arabic.
Your explanations sheds light on this difference. Fortunately as you say, both black and white hateful and extremist groups make such cacophonic noise, that no one really pays much attention, and thank God for that!
I really believe, and perhaps I'm a naive optimist, that in spite of all the hideous things occurring as a result of evil governments and greed, the people of this nation are moving closer and closer to an acceptance and understanding of each other like never before in history, and that already much healing has occured. Of course you wouldn't know this from listening to the mass media, but in the quiet flow of individual lives this is very evident.
Let's pray for this trend to continue, and of course, do our little bit here on Curezone to promote and support that idea.
Have an excellent day JV.
