Re: Such anger!

Being the daughter of a vietnam vet, and having lived through his ptsd, I can see a side that is often ignored about wars like that one and this. Very few were spared the riggers of vietnam, bush being a minority in that area. Rich kids also were drafted and had to learn to obey orders. Then you put them in "hell" and preach to them the importance of portecting america. The constant mental trauma is very hurtful, thus the amount of vietnam vets on the streets. Those who seem to relish their wartime jobs are actually mentally changed by the enviroment. (psych has done research into this area) Some of them have become "monsters" and then they go home. And not long after they have to live with that realization of what they did. It's enough for many to commite suicide!! The autrocities are wrong, without a dount! But the majority of those who are perpritators would have never turned to that without the wartime pressures. That's why the gal being tried for that prison scandal keeps saying she had no choice. It was the trauma of war and the mental set of wartime that changed her. Whether or not she gets prison time, her turn in mental hell is just beginning.
