You accuse ME of hate????

I have no agenda my friend...but you certainly seem to!! I came to these forums really knowing little about Islam other than the atrocities committed here and around the world against innocent people in the name of Allah. I do not accuse or condemn anyone - just trying to get to truth and so far no one has really given an explanation for this contradiction in what is preached and what is practiced. Young boys are in schools being trained to kill and die for their faith; videos posted on the internet of young children acting out beheadings...

In repsonse to your questions: >>On top of that you have ignored all my questions about how many countries you have been to, how many cultures you have explored, how many people you know of different religions, how many of your friends are black and why you never find black fundamentalists? Hmmm I wonder why that could be?<<

I have not travelled much outside of the US and have led a pretty sheltered life, true! But...I studied Sociology in college including a course in Sociology of the Minorities and it was an eye opening experience when I had the opportunity to attend a private presentation by Black Muslims in California concerning their agenda. I have lived in very diverse intellectual, cultural and religious communities for the past 16 years after moving out of the bible belt in 1998 and have many, many friends of different faiths and belief systems. I even have a number of Atheist friends that I respect tremendously and respect me in return. I do not try to convert any of them, but we are able to discuss our differences without personal, hateful and rude attacks and without them blaming me (or Christians) for all the problems of the world. I have been perplexed about this, since I see such a different behaviour by Atheists towards Christians here on the zone and I don't understand! (I guess maybe we are just more highly evolved??)

When I made a commitment to live my life for Christ 24 years ago it was in an all black church in South Dallas (poor, black community) where I was baptized, attended services and taught Sunday school as a single, white woman to little black children. My sister married a black man 30+ years ago and I have a black nephew and 2 black nieces. In addition to that, my precious granddaughter is half-Hispanic...so you can see my family is racially integrated as well.

I don't hate anyone...and have tried to build a relationship with Mo4 based on common ground that is outside the scope of our religious differences in an attempt to get to know the "person behind the post" which is something that I have never seen you do. I can honestly say that I respect her for her perserverence here and in her passion for her beliefs and would hope that she feels the same about me.

I sadly, cannot say the same for you, though. You come to this forum ruthlesslessy attacking and blaming - but you never make any attempt to educate, explain or understand (except for the Unicef link-which I will investigate, thanks). As far as my posts about Islamic persecution of Christians - this is a debate forum and I think it is appropriate to show another side to what is often presented here as a peaceful religion.

Hope that clears things up for you...but truthfully, I rather doubt it. I think you hear only what you want to hear and believe what you have already made up your mind to believe.

Respectfully,
Eileen
