Re: Facts on Islam part 3

Here is an interesting passage. In looking at the context of 4:34 we are a little hard pressed..for the context of the passage is I think on the principles they are to live by and then suddenly you have 4:37 inserted !!!!!

4.32] And do not covet that by which Allah has made some of you excel others; men shall have the benefit of what they earn and women shall have the benefit of what they earn; and ask Allah of His grace; surely Allah knows all things.
[4.33] And to every one We have appointed heirs of what parents and near relatives leave; and as to those with whom your rights hands have ratified agreements, give them their portion; surely Allah is a witness over all things.
[4.34] Men are the maintainers of women because Allah has made some of them to excel others and because they spend out of their property; the good women are therefore obedient, guarding the unseen as Allah has guarded; and (as to) those on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them, and leave them alone in the sleeping-places and beat them; then if they obey you, do not seek a way against them; surely Allah is High, Great.
[4.35] And if you fear a breach between the two, then appoint judge from his people and a judge from her people; if they both desire agreement, Allah will effect harmony between them, surely Allah is Knowing, Aware.
[4.36] And serve Allah and do not associate any thing with Him and be good to the parents and to the near of kin and the orphans and the needy and the neighbor of (your) kin and the alien neighbor, and the companion in a journey and the wayfarer and those whom your right hands possess; surely Allah does not love him who is proud, boastful;
[4.37] Those who are niggardly and bid people to be niggardly and hide what Allah has given them out of His grace; and We have prepared for the unbelievers a disgraceful chastisement.
[4.38] And those who spend their property (in alms) to be seen of the people and do not believe in Allah nor in the last day; and as for him whose associate is the Shaitan, an evil associate is he!
[4.39] And what (harm) would it have done them if they had believed in Allah and the last day and spent (benevolently) of what Allah had given them? And Allah knows them.
[4.40] Surely Allah does not do injustice to the weight of an atom, and if it is a good deed He multiplies it and gives from Himself a great reward.

And finally an open declaration against Christians and Jews.

[5.47] And the followers of the Injeel should have judged by what Allah revealed in it; and whoever did not judge by what Allah revealed, those are they that are the transgressors.
[5.48] And We have revealed to you the Book with the truth, verifying what is before it of the Book and a guardian over it, therefore judge between them by what Allah has revealed, and do not follow their low desires (to turn away) from the truth that has come to you; for every one of you did We appoint a law and a way, and if Allah had pleased He would have made you (all) a single people, but that He might try you in what He gave you, therefore strive with one another to hasten to virtuous deeds; to Allah is your return, of all (of you), so He will let you know that in which you differed;
[5.49] And that you should judge between them by what Allah has revealed, and do not follow their low desires, and be cautious of them, lest they seduce you from part of what Allah has revealed to you; but if they turn back, then know that Allah desires to afflict them on account of some of their faults; and most surely many of the people are transgressors.
[5.50] Is it then the judgment of (the times of) ignorance that they desire? And who is better than Allah to judge for a people who are sure?
[5.51] O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.
[5.52] But you will see those in whose hearts is a disease hastening towards them, saying: We fear lest a calamity should befall us; but it may be that Allah will bring the victory or a punish ment from Himself, so that they shall be regretting on account of what they hid in their souls.
[5.53] And those who believe will say: Are these they who swore by Allah with the most forcible of their oaths that they were most surely with you? Their deeds shall go for nothing, so they shall become losers.
[5.54] O you who believe! whoever from among you turns back from his religion, then Allah will bring a people, He shall love them and they shall love Him, lowly before the believers, mighty against the unbelievers, they shall strive hard in Allah's way and shall not fear the censure of any censurer; this is Allah's Face, He gives it to whom He pleases, and Allah is Ample-giving, Knowing.

This is what these people believe. It is a product of the kingdom of darkness. It is contrary to Scripture. If you don't get the message they preceive us (Christians) as the enemy. They are encouraged to murder and persecute any one who does not believe in this false god. It is not okay to support this false religion. There has been a tremendous drive in the media to protray this religion in a positive manner but the fact is that they are taught that we are the enemy and they preceive us as such.

I would also suggest that anyone interested read "Instructions to Merikera" by Wahkare Achthoes the Third, Pharoah of the Tenth Dynasty of the Middle Kingdom written at the time of Abraham. It is still in print !!!! His take on the situation is interesting in that it still stands true today. This is not a new problem and his instructions to his son, the coming Pharoah are very revealing.

I don't understand how Christians that know that Satan deceives the whole world and that the kingdom of darkness produces false religions can buy into defending these terrorists. It is reprehensible.

We are seeing a tremendous campaign in the media to protray Islam in a postive light. The Muslim religion presents itself as a religion of peace, of love, as believing in the same God as Christianity, claims Christ is the same Christ, except they say he was a radical Muslim and claims that the Quran was a holy book. If you as a witness of Christ are somewhat familiar with what they have been taught it may help you to prepare to witness.

It has been my experience in witnessing to Muslims that one of their main problems is seeing Christians as polytheistic. So understanding Word on the Trinity and that there is one God is important to gain a hearing.

There are many moral, kind, and decent Muslims, just as there are many moral, kind and decent Christians. Unfortunately, just as we find many Christians that do not know what the Word teaches, there are also many Muslims that do not know what the Quran teaches.

And, if anyone is interested and desires to review the following passages in context the Quran is available online. I think I have already posted enough of the Qurans context to show that I am not posting out of context. But, I encourage you to review it for yourself.

on love - in Mark 12 "Jesus answered, ""The foremost is, " HEAR, O ISRAEL! THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD;
30 AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.' a quote from Deut. 6:4-5
31 ""The second is this, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.' There is no other commandment greater than these.''
a quote from Lev. 19:18

by comparison and aside from the other passages already cited:
Surah [5.51] O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.

on peace -
9:5 And the Jews say: Uzair is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!

[48.29] Muhammad is the Apostle of Allah, and those with him are firm of heart against the unbelievers, compassionate among themselves; (God..who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 1 Tim 2:4)

Muhammad lived and wrote from Mecca around 570-622 a.d. The following is an excerpt from Encarta.

Oral recitation of the Qur'an is believed by Muslims to be the believer's most direct contact with the word of God.
The art of recitation, known as tajwid or tartil, is consequently highly valued among Muslims. Heard day and night on the streets, in mosques (Muslim houses of worship), in homes, in taxis, and in shops, the sound of the Qur'an being recited is far more than the pervasive background music of daily life in the Islamic world. Recitation of the Qur'an is the core of religious devotion. The sound of voices reciting the holy book inspires much of Muslim religious and social life. Participation in recitation, whether as reciter or listener, is itself an act of worship, for both acts are basic to a Muslim's religion and invoke a tradition beginning with Muhammad that transcends the particular occasion............

According to Islamic tradition, revelations such as this continued to come to Muhammad in Mecca for 13 years, and later in Medina, a city about 300 km (200 mi) to the north, where he migrated in 622 and lived until he died in 632. The revelations came in fragments as responses to the circumstances that he and his emerging Muslim community faced. The fragmentary nature of the revelations distinguishes the Qur'an from other sacred texts, including many books of the Hebrew Bible, which tell a coherent history or story."
