The Scriptures tell us that all we do, we should do in honor of our Lord as unto Him. But to do anything in the Kingdom of God that has any value, we have to do it in the spirit and in truth. In the area of giving, we need to give with a cheerful heart, for the love that we understand is being poured out to us from His throne, and to which we respond by our offerings and service unto Him. If we have not reached the place in our spiritual growth yet whereby our actions are the fruit of love, then 'doing' in the flesh just because we're supposed to does not bear the lasting fruit that God wishes for us. Cumpulsion is not a fruit of the Spirit.
You did not mention it, but it sounds as if you have started to walk along a spiritual path way before your husband. This can cause many problems if you're not careful. You can't force any individual to be obedient or resposive to God, because this is something that occurs as a result of cultivating a personal relationship with Him alone. People can go to a church and sit for every celebration, even go through the motions, but if it hasn't gotten way into their hearts, then it's merely the practice of dead religion, and not a vital spiritual experience.
Regardless of where your hubby is right now in his spiritual walk, you have already married him, and it woulfd be best now if you simply kept the peace in your home and followed his leading in financial matters. Believe me, God understands your situation better than you do, and if your heart is aching to please Him, He knows that too. All HE expects of you is to do the very best you can do with yourself. Be obedient to Him in all the areas of your life for which you are solely responsible to Him. You are not responsible for your husband's actions before God. Pray that the Lord will give him a full understanding of what it truly means to be born again, and that he would be receptive to the Holy Spirit's calling. This is infinitely more important than whether at this point in time you are folllowing all the rules. Not that God's own dictates are unimportant, but rather that there is a progression in our learning, and babies choke on meat. For some people just beginning the faith walk, tithing can be meat and a stumbling block, but this is because they have not fully understood the magnificence of being transferred from the kingdom of darkness to the Kingdom of Light, which is avaialble only through the shed blood of Jesus Christ at calvary.
May you prosper and be in good health always, at the same rate that your soul grows in the knowledge and blessing of your Saviour.
Love to you both......♥♥♥
