alternatives to root canal?

My husband has a root canal scheduled for end of January. I told him that I was sure there were alternative treatments to avoid having a root canal (without knowing what they were). But I didn't realize there was actually a forum.

I was going to search some of the other forums, but if someone would be kind (this is such a busy time of the year, and I have my own health issues, and those of my children...) to tell me where to look and to read, it would be a much appreciated gift. I've got to get back to bed now (I suffer from severe insomnia, and my hot water boiling time is over....I let myself visit curezone for a moment)
