The Holy Spirit augments our UNDERSTANDING of scripture and does not add to or modify the written word (and our understanding should not be limited to one verse, but we should cross-reference the verses, appropriate term isn't it?). Our understanding of what we read is LIMITED by what we learn as we grow up (how we are raised) and our daily living (worldly experiences). During creation, God said "Let there be light". His word is true and remains true forever. It is our UNDERSTANDING and APPLICATION of His word that needs to be taught, but His word stands as it is.
