Is my dentist crazy? Please help
I am looking for help and guidance. I am a 63 year old male who has had a permanent bridge on the upper left quadrant of my mouth for over 25 years. The permanent bridge covers a total of 5 teeth, 2 of which are false teeth. The bridge was replaced once when it got loose about 9 years ago, but other than that I have never had any problems.
I am now being told by my dentist that there is evidence of decay on one tooth. He is now giving me 3 options to fix this. The first option is that he is suggesting a REPLACEMENT of the bridge with a NEW one, at a cost of over $5000. The second option proposed was the insertion of 2 implants (with a rod which supposedly the bone would adhere too) along with filling and cleaning of the damaged tooth which would also cost appox 5-6000 bucks. Third option is to cut away from the bridge the one damaged tooth on the far left end, and then repair and put a crown on it while leaving the bridge intact.
Should I just leave it alone? I have never had any pain with the tooth, I just went in for a cleaning and was told I would need one of these procedures.
Is my dentist full of it? Has anyone been in a similar situation? Is there a better natural alternative? Should I just leave it alone as is? Please help!
