Re: Being Chrislike and joking

I'm sorry I haven't been able to reply before, I've been having trouble with the computer. The Lord never said not to be human, only that we should avoid "silly talk" which is not fitting of a Christian (silly, senseless nonsense). Joking and kidding around are not undignifying, it's "idiotic nonsense" and laughter in the "party spirit" that produce "silliness", stupidity and cultivate a basic lack of respect for what is GOOD. The basic purpose of avoiding silly talk is to preserve the CHARACTER of the Christian so that the Christian will BE ABLE to continue to, and know how to serve God properly, but of course, also, so as not to defame Christianity. The enjoyment of life is God's will. He wants us to have joy in life, but, while also RESPECTING IT and others. If you "MAKE" fun of someone being homeless, or you "MAKE" fun of something that is good, then you are engaging in COMEDY (satire), which is how SATAN wants us to think about everything. Satan wants us to MOCK everything, and not be Christlike, but humor is much like how God sees human nature,...as HUMAN FOLLY. Oh, we silly humans, we put burning sticks (cigarettes) in our mouth, breathe deeply so that the smoke fills our lungs, and then, WORRY ABOUT BEING HEALTHY. That's funny,...that's humor (being able to see the IRONY of life). God wants us to be able to CLEARLY recognize that there is suffering in the world so that we can be TRULY compassionate and sensitive to those in need, instead of just poke fun at everything (James chapter 4 verse 9) "turn your laughter into tears, and your joy to dejection", but always be able to have a sense of humor about what what doesn't make sense...such as HUMAN FOLLY.
