Re: Welcome!

HIya Grog!

I haven't read all the posts so forgive me if I'm repeating someone, BUT...

Real fish oil from fish is a fantastic oil, can hardly find better in terms of the balance of Omega 3 and 5 fatty acids. But when you distill it into a pill/bottle of oil, the problems of manufacturing come in. Along with the fish oil comes tons of impurities from the fish and the machines, and the process is not stable. You never know whether the pills you take have as much fatty acids as the bottle claims. Studies have measured the efficacy of various pills and found only 2 manufacturers lived up to their claims, and the impurities were there.

Flax seed oils however are quite stable and have what they claim to have, as does Evening Primrose Oil to a smaller extent, and the other oil, Boron? The name escapes me now yikes. :)

So if you can find a pharmeceutical grade fish oil - meaning it's very clean, no impurities, and is what it says it is, I would take that over flax. Failing that, I'm quite happy with flax and EPO.
