Had my GB out 2/27. They couldn't do it lap - got the full open treatment. I only took pain med for the first 2 days. Take what you need, but get away from them as soon as you can - they keep your digestive system supressed. I got to go on liquids (after passing gas) on the third day and solids (after first bm) on the forth day. My point is this - you may feel like eating - but take it easy - don't get ahead of your body. After about three weeks I was able to eat just about anything (or as much as) I wanted. Juices, fruits and fiber are good things to start with. I'm nine weeks out and just went camping w/the scout troop this weekend for the fisrt time since surgery! Had lots of good fried fish!
