Gum Problem

I desparately need your help and advise. I have a 4 unit bridge which extends from the two upper middle teeth toward the left side of my jaw. I'm missing top teeth on the right side so I decided to get implants. One of the front teeth under the bridge became seriously decayed and caused my gum to become inflammed and puffy....almost like a blister. The crown was removed last week and the tooth was removed and the dentist placed an implant in there along with two other implants on the right side of my mouth. Will the swelling and redness casued by the decayed tooth and crown, heal on it's own or will it have to be removed surgically? The dentist never told me and dumb me, never asked. Now he's out of town. By the way, I am going to a dental college graduate clinic to have all the work done. A total of 6 implants, 6 implant crowns and 5 conventional crowns. I've already had a bone graft done in June and an indirect (or direct-not sure which) sinus lift done in August.
