Thanks Garcia, what do you think of Aloe Vera?
Before you replied, I decided maybe I hadn't drunk enough and took a litre of warm water. Didn't make me poop, just pee, but it did stop that awful need to go and cant feeling.
Delighted to hear AllBran isn't good for you, I hate the stuff!! I'll also not just eat raw veggies from now.
Will get some flax when things open again here Tuesday. Wont take psyllium though, have researched and there have been cases of it causing severe probs in hay fever sufferers, which I am.
Tonight, I met my neighbour (house has been shut up since we moved here), turns out she's a nurse who'd been away on a course. Her English & my French are on a par, so we had an interesting duo-lingual conversation!! She thoroughly approved of the saltwater flush, but said I should start taking Aloe Vera to condition my bowels. What do you think?
One interesting aside. We got onto the subject of dehydration and she was highly in favour of colas as instant relief. She spent some years working in a hospital in a town near the Rhone (the route to the Mediterranean) and, sometimes, on high summer weekends when there had been traffic jams for many kms and shade temps of 35C+, they would have, literally, hundreds of people come in. They used to stuff drips into the worst cases and hand cans of cola to the rest, until there was time to examine them more. She said the orthophosphoric acids (and something else) did the trick, but by then it was getting a bit too techie for our combined languages!
