Re: Please help, Shelley
Hi and welcome to the forum! So sorry I didn't see your post in the other forum, this forum has taken up all my time and I don't get out and about as much as I like to ensure that every post gets answered. So readers, if you're reading this, help me out - visit other forums and send them my way! LOL! :)
Don't assume the psyllium is bad for you - there is a connection between psyllium and asthma, but if you haven't been working in manufacturing or health care, chances are you haven't been exposed to it enough to have an allergy. It's cheap enough to try at least and see. They should also have plenty of flax unless the French have totally abandoned their roots - King Charlemagne made it a law that everyone had to take a tablespoon of flax seeds a day!!
When you do the SWF, use an entire tablespoon, or at least make sure it tastes very salty, like soup. Otherwise you will simply absorbe the water and it won't flush the pipes!
My Bowel Management notes includes tons of natural remedies for constipation, all will help, but you absolutely must change your diet. YOu can order an enema bucket online no problem, there are lots and lots of sources now. The cheapest I found was 30 bucks from "Health & Yoga" in India. I posted on this page just a few posts back a link to an entire page of links to enema bucket sites too. Don't have it on me now 'cuz I'm at the office. :)
As for the language barrier, just bypass it by ordering online. The Internet makes everything global!!! :) I believe Fennel TEa is the same in french or english (you can check Babel Fish, the translater on AltaVista.com and see for sure) and it's a wonderful, tasty, safe and natural laxative. Fennel is an herb that the french love so it's around in seed form, you can eat the seeds, boil them for tea, etc., or just eat it like salad if you find it fresh in bunches.
Get to know BabelFish, when I was working in a different country a day on my whirlwind tour thru Europe I translated everything I needed and printed it out and had people read off of that! :) One time I had to translate, "Please vacuum up dead flies in bedroom next to bed and window." LOL!
Hope that helps and I hope you can enjoy the french countryside without having to deal with french snobbery! (I can say that cuz i'm half french myself LOL!)
