Please help, Shelley

Posted this on Bowel Cleanse but got no reply

My husband got relocated to Lille France. We got a house in a great seaside town and I was loving it here, until I got real bad constipation. Didn't go for three days, except for some slimy stuff, then got awful stomach and back pains in the middle of the night. Stopped eating anything but fibre and apple juice and managed to dig out some rabbit pellets with finger (sorry) after two days. Four days on I'm now passing some tiny amounts of soft, sticky stuff but have a desperate urge for a real good poo.
Back home I'd have given my self an enema, but here's the rub. I'm embarrassed to talk about these things anyway and my French is awful which would make it even worse. I DARE NOT go into the pharmacy and ask for an enema kit.
Good news is there's loads of herbal stuff on the shelves. I could get psyllium & Bentonite (names are same) but daren't use as I get hay fever and was told not to use psyllium as it can lead to asthma in hay fever sufferers.
I feel sooooooo miserable and uncomfortable, mouth tastes foul and my tongue is covered in white furr, so I'd welcome any suggestions for a cleansing diet, plus some herbs (with French names) that would help. They sell sulfate de magnesie ( Epsom Salts I guess) for baths, so I wondered if I should take some of that.
I looked at the French forum but it wasn't any help. Think that guy in Paris, who said he couldn't find cayenne pepper must have been kidding; it's in every supermarket and grocery store.
Cant ask my husband (English) to get an enema kit; I'd be told "You Americans are obsessed with your innards, if you're that constipated see a doctor."

As I'm typing this, I have a strong urge to go, just like there's a huge poo waiting to come out, but I've been 4 time already today and almost nothing has come.
Also for last few days I've had on & off pain on left side, just above the hip and seems to alternate from back to front. The area isn't tender, no extra pain from pressing, but when the pain is there things like breathing deeply or bending make it worse.
