There are several reasons why we get emotional from detoxing or liver flushing:
Organs and nervous system, our very cells themselves, store emotions. This is part of our survival mechanisms, we need cell memory so we know to run the next time we see a saber toothed tiger. ;) And if we felt all the horror and sadness from major events in our lives all at once, we'd go insane. So the body stores them for us until we can release them by feeling them finally. Body work, chiropractic, flushes, cleansing, all of these will release these cell memories.
You know the line bisecting your tongue? That line represents stored emotions along the spinal column. Before I started cleansing, my whole entire tongue had that line. Now I only have 1/4 inch. If the line is crooked, you have subluxions/scoliosis.
When you're dealing with allergies and releasing stored toxins, you have a lot of gunk in your bloodstream. This will pass your blood brain barrier and trigger the parts of the brain that deal with emotion. The white blood cells go to work and cause swelling and water retention, often the water is retained close enough to our brain or nervous system to again, trigger emotions.
When the liver is dealing with the toxins in our bloodstream, it will get behind on its hormone managment schedule, as it were. ;) this allows our hormones to go wonky. So ... men who detox, welcome to what we women go through every month!!! ;)
So there you go, plenty of reasons to feel wonky! :) Just be extra nice to yourself, take hot baths, get a massage, get back to nature and just *feel* the beauty of a tree, and DRINK LOTS OF WATER! :)
Oh and, carry Kleenex. ;)
