I think you're right, you need to do relaxation techniques and the rest to balance PH overall, get clearer on where your body's at, all that.
And definitely increase agni. Saliva is SO important!!! Here's an excerpt you may find interesting:

I also noticed that when I get a massage, my saliva starts flowing. :)
You may want to consider a short fast while drinking lots of spicy herbal teas, lemon juice and apple cider vinegar.
