Re: types of fiber

Wow! You read every posts? Good for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We've found that psyllium, flax and Bentonite will give the best results with sloughing off mucoid placque. The Bentonite will actually work on the stuff stuck to the lining, and the psyllium/flax attracts water to it so tends to keep moving (colon strength and peristaltic action provided). Add cayenne pepper and you really will be cleansing the colon. :)

Citris fruits actually don't have a lot of fiber. Berries and apples have more, but it's a weak and very fast fiber, passing right through you and liable to not stand up to any impacted fecal matter. A lot of commercial intestinal cleansers will have apple pectin in them because it's cheaper than psyllium.

I recommend "porridge" because it is full of the nutrients the standard American diet neglects - the B's and Iron. If you eat Bob's Red Mill hot cereals or something similar, you'll get tons of both fiber AND nutrients. :)

If you want to include fruits in your diet, be sure to be in the second stage of candida recovery and to stick with kapha-friendly fruits, eating them alone as a fruit meal, and you should be fine. :)

Hope that answers your question! :)
