Re: non surgical solutions sought
Hi. :)
I feel as I think you do, that surgery isn't a necessary part of dentistry, especially now, with the arrival of the current pharmaceutical age.
I prefer old fashioned remedies and long term fixes to wonderdrugs, yet either way, I think surgery is brutal compared to letting nature do the work.
I hence created a holistic method of dental care which I follow and which has been gradually restoring my body and bringing my teeth under the reign of my own control.
My system has 4 core components: hygiene, eating, thinking, and exercise, and a supplementary zone, called treatments, which is where surgery once stood.
In my method, the idea is to become self sufficient through applying the core understanding and core practices in life, and to use 'treatments' if you have to.
Nevertheless, I've heard that tooth decay is typically a 3 or 4 generation old disease; i.e, if you've got it, it's in your genes, and it's hard to reverse.
I never say never, so I believe that even the genes can rewrite themselves if you get the balance right and have a 'good run' with all areas of life synergising.
In other words, I'm very optimistic about halting tooth decay within one lifetime (I think 7 years should be the maximum required).
2 crown jewels of my system could one day be individual tooth regeneration and the planned simultaneous exfoliation and replacement of a number of adult teeth.
The greatest good I can imagine in this area is if tooth decay was eradicated in future generations and people came to expect perfect teeth from birth to death.
All the above processes may one day include stem cell techniques or, on the other hand, be purely in house activities with hormone pills or vitamins as assistants.
The basic components of my system are at
http://www.worldofteeth.com, and at present it's all free and uncopyrighted.
I hope that this is a useful contribution and I would appreciate positive or negative comments on the ideas presented on my site as well as any new ideas.
Kind thoughts to yourselves,
