Re: peel
Hi there, this is the system I use:
I put Lily of the Desert 99% Aloe Vera gelly on my lips everynight. I use a fair amount on my lips and let dry right before I go to sleep. In the morning after I brush my teeth, shave, and shower I use my tounge to lick off any of the remaining aloe and dead white skin on my lips, which comes off fairly easily. Any dead white skin that doesnt come off with my tounge, I leave on and let dry. I then use a small amount of regular lip balm(whatever you like, I use Labello med) in the day whenever my lips get dry.
One problem with exfoliative cheilitis that I experience, is that during the day I get a white ring of dead skin every couple of hours around the inside of my lips, which I usually end up licking off because it looks so bad.
For me personally, Aloe Vera gelly is the best thing Ive found so far. I can use it everynight and then exfoliate and it doesnt leave my lips looking really red or raw. It doesnt give me
Acne around my mouth either. I also like that it is natural and has vitamins in it, which are probably needed since my lips are always in repair mode. Also when it dries it forms sort of a second skin which helps heal and protect.
Please Note: For Aloe Vera gelly to be effective and work you have to use it everynight and use lip balm in the day when your lips are dry to avoid too much damage. Aloe Vera does not work well if you have let your lips dry out and harden with thick skin for a couple of days.
Also Note: The only reason I use this system is because I cant find a way to heal my lips permanently. This system allows me to live life everyday with semi-normal looking and feeling lips. If anyone is going to use this system please use at your own discretion.
Best of luck to all ;D
EDIT: If my lips do not dry out during the day, then I dont use any lip balm at all :) Using just Aloe at night works just fine ;D
