Re: Don't use the Ascorbic Acid version; and a source
Hi North,
The animals all produce 2,000 to 13,000 milligrams of ascorbic acid (standardized to 154 pounds/70 kilos) every day of their lives and do not get brittle bones. Brittle bones has not been the experience of any person I am aware of that takes ascorbic acid.
As "grist for your mill," I myself have taken a "bowel tolerance" dose (in HEALTH, not illness -
http://www.orthomed.com/titrate.htm) of ascorbic acid every day since 1994, amounting to, on average, 30,000 to 60,000 milligrams (approximately 1 to 2 ounces) in 5 to 10 divided doses (and will continue to do so for the rest of my life).
My bones are all in good shape.
Ascorbic acid is like fruit acids. You must build up to being healthy enough to be able to consume large quantities of fruit [ and their acids]. But when you do, your health goes to a higher level. When you "broke out" with canker sores, your body was actually going through a healing "crisis" (in my opinion). You just have to take it slow and work up to the higher levels.
Best,
David
