It's hard on the liver. Have you gotten blood work before and after?
It changes the functioning of the liver while you are on it. if our doc did not have you get bloodwork BEFORE and hopefully after, you might want to find another doctor!

Check out a google search on: "valtrex liver"

The liver is resilent though, so who knows what this actually means long term. There are people who have taken valtrex for years and years who then stopped and outbreaks are very infrequent. This has been documnented medically.

But it affects/harms your liver. There is no question about it.
