Re: Is this Anorexia?
My opinion (for what its worth!) is that you do not have anorexia. However, when I had it I was always aware of how ill/scrawny I looked, I did not see myself in a distorted way. I looked awful! Not everyone with anorexia sees themselves as fat. I do think that a lot of people with A have 'rituals' around food - cutting it up small, pretending they've eaten more than they have or only eating certain foods, maybe at certain times of day. Does this sound familiar? There are now EDNS (ED not specified) being diagnosed. The true anorexic/bulimic pattern doesn't apply, but there is disordered eating. If you really want to put on weight, there are Build Up/Complan type drinks you can have but which taste pretty foul. I would instead concentrate more on nutrition, less on calories. Make sure the food you eat is of high quality, good nutrition, that way you will feel good eating it. You will feel better in yourself, mind and body. Fruit, vegs, eggs, lean meat (but dont get too hung up on the lean!) potatoes, some good quality bread, fish, nuts, seeds etc. for the essential fatty acids, and plenty of water.
I hope some of this helps. Good luck!
