Re: Some Advice... Please!!

Hi Wintergreen! ;-)

Glad to hear things are going well for you! I've been meaning to give an update on the Cutler forum but not really been with it. As with you, it's going to be a long drawn out process for me too. What doses are you on at the moment?

I took a chance and went back to using DMSA in my 3rd round and found I was ok with it, no more headaches which was lucky and just as well as you can't get DMPS in the UK and I'm beginning to think maybe even ALA is too strong for me. I'm still only on 12.5mg ALA a dose and haven't increased that since starting chelation.

I had a break from chelation for a month or so as even though I was only on low doses I think I overdid it in terms of too long rounds and not taking long enough breaks. I was experiencing quite a lot of emotional instability...you know that feeling like you're going mental and should be incarcerated kind of feeling! I think I'm fairly sensitive due to lots of brain mercury which makes sense given my symptoms and history eg having a DMSA challenge. I also forgot I took a supp containing ALA for about a year a couple of years ago so I'm sure that didn't help one bit!

I felt I needed stronger thyroid support so started on Armour about a month ago which has helped in some ways but in general I've been feeling much more hypothyroid, again with mental/emotional instability, inability to think and VERY fatigued, very poor stress response. Big signs of low cortisol and/or low ferritin which prevent you from getting the most from the thyroid hormones. Like you I've been thinking of maybe taking adrenal hormones but up to now I've held out and just stuck with glandulars plus ashwagandha, B5 etc.

Anyway out of desperation I decided to do another round a few days ago which I finished today. So just a 3 dayer on both ALA and DMSA. Feeling MUCH better energy wise, and somewhat better mentally, certainly much more stable, less cracking up! But still feel kind of emotionally flat and just weird in the head so I'm still wondering if I should stick to just DMSA for a few rounds.

I've heard good things about Isocort, I think it's just finding which adrenal supp suits you. Let us know how you get on with that. Have you done any more flushes? I'm still pondering over whether to do one.

Anyway this whole experience again tells you just how careful we need to be and how important it is to get the right supplemental support in place.

Sorry for the epic post!

Anne
