Re: Could BROKEN TOOTH/EXPOSED FILLING cause TMJ?
Hi btm66
Yes, I wouldnt be surprised your TMJ got worse after your tooth split exposing metal filling.
Even when metal
Amalgam fillings have any form of abrasion (as in teeth cleanings, eating really crunchy foods, etc) more methyl mercury vapor is emitted from the filling into the body and muscle tissues-- especially jaw area where contact is the closest.
Abrasion increases mercury vapor- but
A crumbled, cracked, scratched , chipped or damaged filling will immediately emit tons more mercury into the body in a quicker amount of time.
When you get that tooth repaired--have them clean out all the old filling in that tooth- and replace with composite filling. You should get this done ASAP. Don't wait--even if you have to take out a little loan.
For now, start drinking ice water and swish near that tooth with ice. The ice will temporarily halt more mercury vapor fuming out of that filling.
Those with any kind of mercury poisoning must start asap increasing their Magnesium and Selenium minerals -- this will help with the symptoms, as mercury destroys these minerals- which kicks off other illnesses in your body that you are predisposed to.
A quick way to get magnesium into your body is through an
Epsom Salts poured in the bath water. Take these baths daily-to keep replenishing magnesium.
Hang in there-- and get those fillings repaired fast!--- then you can begin chelating too.
I reccomend checking out the
http://www.herballure.com forum-- they have an awesome forum on there for people suffering from thier metal fillings. I believe Some past posters also suffered from TMJ too.
