Had heard of the plastic bags for flies: going to try this summer

Mint: have heard that for flies, but for roaches too? great! I am going to plant some in my backyard. (I heard even spearmint gum works for flies at a picnic)
But growing mint is supposed to be super easy so...

Have no roaches but don't want any...
