Re: Appetite
You probably need to monitor and reduce your carbohydrate intake. Certainly any high glycemic foods. The more insulin you release, the more it stimulates a cycle where you crave more food. Stick to lots of green vegetables as your main carbs with small amounts of whole raw fruits such as apples, and small amounts of whole grains eaten WITH fat at the same time. (I don't know if you are vegetarian or not. If you aren't, then you can continue eating animal protein as normal. If you are vegetarian then focus on green vegetables, avoid potatoes, soy, bread). If you do this for a few weeks that should reset your body's hormone cycles. Also if you do eat a meal with a medium to high amount of carbohydrates, go for a walk 20-30 minutes as soon as the meal is finished, or exercise vigorously before eating. Of course, exercise can increase your appetite, too!
Eat every 2-3 hours either a meal or a small snack (small salad, handful of nuts, apple) and this should keep you from being so hungry at meal times, and raise your metabolism higher.
Also make sure you are eating real foods. As someone else mentioned,
additives like
Mono-Sodium-Glutamat (Natrium Glutamat) can mess with your appetite.
Make sure you eat some healthy fat with each meal, this will help you feel satisfied longer. Especially good is extra virgin coconut oil at least 1 time a day, this raises the metabolism.
If you can find a Glycemic Index on the internet you could read through that to be aware of the high glycemic foods and avoid them for a while. It doesn't mean that the high glycemic foods are healthy or unhealthy, just that they spike your blood
Sugar and thus your insulin. Sometimes it's good to give them a break. For example carrot juice is high glycemic I believe. Of course it is very healthy. But sometimes it could be better to reduce the carrot juice intake and take more green juices. Or at the least, drink the carrot juice slowly and with fat in it like avocado, flax seeds, flax oil, or olive oil. Just an example.
So, exercise, eat small amounts often, and watch the carbs and
food additives .
Hope that helps!
OR..... you could do something like an Orange Juice fast (Ask Barefoot forum) or Master Cleanse, but if you are craving foods right and left, then you might not be able to go too many days before eating! However you can have an orange juice or lemonade on those anytime you like/need, so if you can be content with that, it might be worth considering.
