Re: immediate help needed for bipolar disorder

here is the problem - if you take those meds for a significant amount of time and then stop them abruptly you WILL have a psychotic episode. all of that medication is very powerful, if you choose to go off them you HAVE to do it SLOWLY over time, there is absolutely no other way. doing it suddenly can have drastic consequences as you are witnessing. the only answer right now today is to go back on them. yes thats right. then you devise a plan that will allow her to slowly reduce dosage over a period of weeks or months and then she can be free of them. of course this should be done under the supervision of a doctor if you can find one who is willing and competent.

there are two books you should read, one is by peter breggin the other by gabriel cousens. breggin is a psychiatrist who is the world's leading expert on both the toxic side affects of pychiatric medication and how to get off of the meds for good. he says NEVER do it abruptly as you will end up more messed up than you were before. cousens has a very extensive method of detoxing the body from the toxic side affects of these meds.

here is where you can find both.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0060959657/qid=1142726037/sr=1-5/ref=sr_1_5/...

if you can only afford one, get the breggin book. he has an immense amount of research and experience under his belt. he works one on one with seriously depressed people and has built one of the only successful med-free treatment programs in the nation for those suffereing from schizophrenia.

chances are that at some point the staff where she is will find a way to get some meds into her, and sadly right here and right now that may be the only way she can even out. once that has happened please sit down with her, armed with some of the knowledge of the breggin book, and explain to her that a strategy to get her free from these drugs has been laid out and she can get free if she participates and cooperates.

i personally know of no herb or vitamin or natural compound that will normalize her right now. she is experiencing severe medication toxicity. dont get me wrong any kind of great natural supplement will be wonderful for her, but the intense manic phase will most likely only calm down with the hair of the dog.

i will say a prayer for you and her, and i hope things get better for you both.
