you have got to be kidding me! did you even read chapter one, or maybe scanned a few pages before making your "well informed" conclusion about Kevin Trudeau "bitching (and whining) about the US govt and FDA? if there is good, ample reason to bitch about something, people will and they certainly have the right to do so; especially if it concerns possible government impropriety. if you think all is well and good over at the FTC and FDA, fine; other people, however, are not so naive.
what were you expecting with regard to a cure? a pill or potion or exercises you can do in your spare time? did you (are are you even willing) to try the recommendations in chapter 6 to prevent or even reverse the effects of whatever is ailing you?
you need to take responsibilty for your own health and if the current system isnt helping you, what is it going to take to get it through your head that you need try something else. after all, what have you got to lose?
whether it be skepticism, apathy, ignorance or preconceived notions which prevent you from doing the things necessary to get your health back in order, it doesnt matter. this is where you have to take the stand and not let these hinder you. look at it this way; would you rather try something new with the "possibility" that you might benefit from it, or would you rather keep doing things the old way with the "surefire" outcome of experiencing more of nothing?
i suggest you talk to people who have taken the initiative and embraced an alternative lifestyle toward health and are now enjoying a happier, healthier life free of or no longer plagued by symptoms of disease. its difficult to change one's lifestyle once its become accustomed to but with some motivation and an intense desire to get and stay well, its not as insurmountable a task as you'd think.
