I was told by a mercury free dentist that a gold onlay covering most of the top of a molar is stronger than a composite onlay. Gold onlays, and inlays have been used for a long time with good results as far as I know. And while Gold onlays are alloys they do not evaporate or out gas like mercury amalgams. I would not want any composites containing aluminum which is a very toxic metal and increases the effects of mercury toxic by a factor of 50. I think I might be quoting you on that. ;) Crowns in the US are usually 750 and up. And exactly how many of these IAOMT dentists are there in each state? I think there are only a few mercury free dentists in So. Calif. Have you gotten yours Amalgams out yet Tobi?
