Kefir is a lacto bacilus (and other) orobiotic that grows in dairy. It feeds off the lactose (sugar) in the dairy and grows its culture. You can get kefir starte in a health food store. You place the recommended amount in a set volume of milk ( I prefer organic goat milk)and within 24 hours you have a probiotic culture. This is one of the cornerstones to Donna Gates's Body Ecology Diet which id being used very successfully by many dysbiosis sufferers.
