Yes, I think it is possible. I always like to trust everybody, but sometimes there are those that just aren't trustworthy.
I trusted a dentist who was in the same choir. He drilled and filled all five of my children, my husband and myself. Later, we ended up going into arbitration. We were all examined by a panel of dentists. Alot of the work was appropriate, but one of my daughters NEVER needed ANY of the work he did on her (and she didn't have a single filling before he ruined her teeth!).
I've learned to pay alot closer attention since then and to ask alot more questions. What happened to you as a child may or may not have been intentional destruction of your teeth. It is being viewed today through the eyes of an adult, but the perspective of a child. Forgive him and yourself and go on. Take care of your teeth the best you can today and in the future. That's really all you can do now.
