Re: Babies and hernia

Unfortunately a naturopath wouldn't know much about this. :( They are trained to help people reach vital health thru lifestyle changes and a hernia will require some kind of manipulation at the very least.

Not many chiropractors get the extra training required to work with infants, but I know there are for adults methods of curing hernias without invasive surgery. Infants are so tiny tho, that it just doesn't work the same way. :(

So the best thing your friend can do for her baby is to find someone who can administer flower essences, or get the ETS solution from Perelandra (it's like Rescue Remedy but for People) and administer that before and after the surgery to both herself and the baby for the stress this is going to cause.

Another fantastic thing to do before the operation is have your friend explain clearly to her baby, no matter what the child's age it doesn't matter, exactly what is going to happen - the procedure - and why it has to happen and that it's all going to be okay. This really makes a difference!

After the surgery and full recovery, see if you can find a nurse practioner who is trained in infant massage. A series of massages will help the infant release the trauma of the surgery.

If she can get the surgery scheduled during the new moon, or at the very least NOT during a full moon when people tend to bleed more, this too makes a difference.

Hope that helps! :)
