Re: Something strange ...
Anne,
I do hardly eat grains (nowadays). But before I would eat them every day. Like I said in my other post (below) since I've given them up, I've put on a lot of weight (I'm underweight).
Casava is also known as manioc, or yuca. It comes from South America. It is basically a less starchy version of potatoes.
My understanding (both theoretical and experimental) is that candida feeds on fermentable carbs. Whether they are complex or simple doesn't matter too much.
> However when I started eating well-cooked rice and chewed it well, it did the opposite ie improved my bowel function and foggy brain symptoms, and detoxified my body. I'm a bit annoyed you suggested it's wishful thinking....this is based on my experience and wondered if it might help you too.
I didn't mean it personally, and I didn't know you were recommending something based on personal experience. That is certainly interesting. But my experience with rice is the opposite. As for detoxifying - could it have been the spices?
Your absolutely right that something is missing. Its just frustrating though because in all this talk something *is* missing. We all know that yet can not articulate exactly what it is.
Many thanks for your input,
JV.
