Candida lives off fermentable carbs

Anne,
its a myth that candida lives off simple sugars. It lives off fermentable carbs. Fermentable being the key-word. What is alcohol made from? Fermentable carbs - e.g. potatoes, rice and other grains.

All the candida diets say to lower the level of fermentable carbs. The only difference is that some say cut them out completely.

In any case forget the theory, my own personal experience has been that grains feed candida. When I went onto a vegetable based diet my weight went up dramatically (I am underweight). I can't say for sure that it was the veggies, but that is my instinct.

JV.
