In the case of getting lecithin from soy, the refinement process is actually a GOOD thing because it leaves the soy behind and only removes the lecithin. It's a messy process but you end up with something about 96% pure, so that's okay. Capsules are okay, but try to make sure to get thru them fast since they are partially a fat so they can go rancid.
